About Us

…To the Harbour City Newcomers Club of Nanaimo, B.C. Our club (HCNC) was established in October, 2007 and we have been growing ever since! We meet each month and have the opportunity to sign up for activities and special events. Our meetings are casual and fun, as well as informative. We welcome local guest speakers but also like to make sure we have time to socialize. We will help you get to know both the City of Nanaimo and a great group of people. We are all new here too! We encourage you to contact us by email or come along to one of our monthly meetings.

Who We Are

HCNC is open to everyone  – singles or couples – who are new to Nanaimo and the surrounding area, or who have had a change in their circumstances. Our club is run by volunteer members who form our Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Coordinator, Activities Coordinators and Publicity Coordinator. We are incorporated and belong to the National Newcomers Council of Canada.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide friendship and new opportunities to individuals who have recently moved to the Nanaimo area. Our club wants to help you create a new social network in a casual, supportive, and fun environment. We want to share our experiences in this paradise that we now call home!
